A Failure to Communicate

....." what we have here is a failure to communicate..."

Probably the most used phrase that I use in the corporate world, and something I say to a lot of my new employees over the last 20 years or so.

You may remember those words came from " Cool Hand Luke" a movie with Paul Newman and George Kennedy.

So, my question is to Jack Sprague, Robbie Gordon, and Michael Waltrip, is this, do we have a failure to communicate here?

What happened between you and your spotters?

All 3 of these accidents could have been prevented, if communication between driver and spotter was better.

I have said for a long time, that the role of spotter and driver is an extremely important one, but one that a lot of teams take a dim view of in light of the level of professionalism that should be shown. This job is one that should be looked at like a driver/crew chief relationship.

Do we need to look at the role of spotter in a different way?

Do we need to look at a different way to spot?

Do big tracks maybe need 2 spotters?

Or do we just need to communicate better?

I find that 3 incidents in a few days is ....well kind of high!

Time to go, Truck Race is ready to start.

Lets hope we dont have a failure to communicate...
