Today Nextel reported that they will now sell rather than just rent the Fanview.
This is a report on my experience with it.
Not to duplicate the press release that you will find below, but rather I want to report what myself, my wife and my 6 year old daughter thought of it and how we used it.
Last year at the spring race at Talledaga Super Speedway, I rented the Fanview, two headsets and the appropriate cables for two people to listen at the same time.
We had our motorcoach parked on the Allison Motor Home Avenue, which is located on the backstretch. From our vantage point which was one of the best at the track, we could watch the cars from turn 1 all the way to turn 4, and if someone ran the highline, we could see that car all the way around the track.
But, what if we wanted more info, or an in-car view, or to find out what position our favourite driver was in?
Well,if you are the lucky 1% of the fans who watch from their motorhomes and have a tv, then you can always look at the tube for updates.
Other options for fans are to look at the scoring tower, listen to the track announcer, rent a scanner and listen, talk to a neighbour, or to simply look for their favourite driver as he/she rounds the track.
But, how about something that could do all of these things and more?
What if you could also have a small tv screen to look at and see inside car action shots, and outside as well?
How about if you could also listen to the drivers and their crews?
What if you could also look at the screen and see what position not only your driver was in but others as well!
There are many other things that this device will do, but I dont want to bury you will all the technical mumble/jumble.
We all loved it, it did so much we never got the chance to really get into all the options, but my wife loved it, and so did my little girl as you can see!
I highly recommend the Fanview to everyone, spend some time learning what it does, it will take your Nascar experience to a whole new level!
